Anthropologie Necklace

I found the Incredible Orbs Necklace while looking through the new arrivals at Anthropologie and knew it would be an easy one to duplicate.

All you need is:

Large Beads

Strip of Silk fabric(length depending on your preference)

This is super easy, all you do is take your beads and string them on, one by one, tying a knot between each one. Here is how mine turned out. I decided to use colorful striped beads.

Urban Outfitters Bowtie Necklace

I saw this bowtie necklace on the Urban Outfitters site and thought it was cute. I liked how you could make it shorter or longer.

I had a dress that I had already taken off the sash for a necklace last week and figured the straps would be perfect for this necklace since they had the length adjustments on them.

Here is what I did:

Sew the two straps together, making sure each piece is laying with the bra adjusters the same way.

Cut a piece of material in the length and width you want your bow. Fold one end in and then the other end in, slightly on top of each other. Mine is a bit smaller than the one from Urban Outfitters. Lay the sewn strap on top of the bow, which will be laid on top of a small piece of fabric to tie around both. You can make yours more like the Urban Outfitter one by making your bow bigger so that it hangs lower.

Tie the small piece around the bow and strap securing them both. Now using your scissors, cut the tied part down so that its not seen from the front when wearing this.

This is what its like when its shorter, like a men’s bowtie.

This is what its like when its longer.

Embellish your Headband

Headband’s are so easy to embellish. All you need is lace, beads, or scrap material. I usually buy my headband’s in packs of 3 or 4 from Target for under a $1 a piece.

What you need:

Headband, scrap material, embellishment of choice, & a hot glue gun.

On this headband I used two pieces of scrap material, one piece of tulle with gold specks and one piece of black material.

Using a wide stitch, gather your material. The black material gradually gets smaller at each end.

After hot gluing the fabric scraps to the headband(usually more to one side), use whatever embellishment you would like. I used this broach, but you can use beads, or earrings with the backs cut off, sparkly fabric, the choice is yours.

Leather Cuff Bracelet

The other day I shared about a lady who made jewelry out of old bicycle tubes and I told you I would be trying it with the recycled leather I got from SCRAP. Well I gave it a try, was hoping to have a cute bracelet for my daughters birthday with a C cut out in the middle. But I found out quickly that you cant really do large cut outs or it flaps open. I also found out it is hard to cut the leather, making the cut out C look very scrappy. So I scraped that one and started another one and the second one turned out pretty good.

I started with a pink piece of leather. I measured my daughters arm and cut it to that length.

I used a razor blade to cut the C out after I traced it onto the leather. Make sure and have a cutting board under the leather.

I also used the hole punch from my sisters handy dandy crop-A-Dile. But then I scraped this one.

And made this one!

I used two small eyelets on each side, along with two strips of leather for the closure.
