This is a pretty easy project and one that I am going to duplicate for gifts this year.I love how it turned out!
Materials needed:
- Old beads, plastic beads, whatever ugly beads you have lying around. Please don’t use nice beads, save those for another project.
- 2″ thick by 78″ long(or longer) of fabric of your choice
- Sewing machine
- Enough matching fabric for fifty 2″ circles
I used these pink beads that the color had worn off on most of them.
Fold your 78″ long fabric in half length wise, wrong sides together and sew the length of it. When finished, turn the strip right side out.
Cut the beads apart or un-string them.
Start by tying a knot in the material, then put a bead in the strip and tie another knot, put another bead and tie another knot, continue until the necklace is the length you want and has enough fabric left over to tie a bow.
For the ends, iron them flat and then fold in and sew straight across.
Cut out 50 circles from the matching fabric.
Take a circle and fold it in half and in half again or just pinch it in the middle(your choice) and sew it onto the necklace. Continue sewing circles onto the necklace until your satisfied with the length and fullness. Always keep the circles on the front and sides so that the necklace lays flat.
