have a very basic bag pattern that I'm using to make my own bag. It doesn't have any pockets or strap attachments 'cause I'm mostly just improvising those. Heh.

It's sized to be able to fit a laptop with a 15.4" screen and a standard three-ring binder.

I added a pocket for a laptop closest to my side, as well as a pen holder, iPod pocket and wallet pocket on the front part of the main pocket (right under the flap?).

The strap was made with an old guitar strap and a carabiner. One end is sewn on to the bag directly and the carabinder end is attached by a loop sewn on to the bag.

And I still don't know how I'm going to keep the flap closed. Perhaps two large buttons at either corner or some buckles. But definately NOT velcro... can you imgine walking into class late?
